If you're up for the challenge, pick Heroic or Legendary. Heroic is the nicest way to go as enemies are tough but you can still kill them in multiple ways, but Legendary is the real "fuck you" challenge that you should absolutely not do your first time around if you want to enjoy this game. This applies to every Halo game, as Heroic is what the games are designed around (contrary to what "normal" would imply) and are almost universally considered to have the best balance of fun and challenge. If Heroic is too much for you, drop it down to normal. - Halo 2's new graphics are much more faithful then CE's, so you can generally play in new graphics. However, there are some music tracks that are totally changed in the new graphics mode due to liscensing reasons, so on the missions "The Arbiter" and "Gravemind", for the former during the ending Banshee segment, and for the latter when you get to the room where Cortana says "you might wanna sit this one out" after the bridge with hunters on it, you'll want to switch to old graphics to hear the original tracks.
