LostSoulll View Profile View Posts 6 May, 2022 @ 5:23pm Valve Index RMA process Alright So I returned my headset because I broke it(don't ask why) but it's been gone since last monday and to this day friday may 6th I still haven't got any like email or anything about when Im getting my new headset. Bad 💀 Motha View Profile View Posts 6 May, 2022 @ 5:45pm An RMA process can easily take around a month. Don't expect a quick turn-around. I don't even see how they would accept a replacement if you broke it. How is that their problem. #1

Bad 💀 Motha View Profile View Posts 7 May, 2022 @ 3:16am Yes even doing such an RMA for say a Motherboard from Asrock, Asus, MSI or other major brands would have a similar turn-around time. Usually 2-4 weeks #3

Bad 💀 Motha View Profile View Posts 7 May, 2022 @ 7:54am Breaking something yourself usually voids warranty. That's not really what a warranty is for. So good luck with that. Last edited by Bad 💀 Motha; 7 May, 2022 @ 7:55am #5

LostSoulll View Profile View Posts 7 May, 2022 @ 8:19am Okay that’s weird why would they have me send it back to them then? Unless there’s some kind of separate warranty that you buy yourself? Instead of the limited warranty? I haven’t had it for over a year yet so idk #7

Bad 💀 Motha View Profile View Posts 7 May, 2022 @ 2:46pm LOL well this thread has grown too long for him to delete it. Honestly I would never make such a thread since you should have known any warranty rma is a lengthy process. Honestly, saying "it is damaged" is all one needs to do. You can't admit to it or it will be refused. But if it is the kind of damage that is obviously done through user abuse, then they probably will not honor a warranty replacement anyways. Since by law they do not have to. #13

Does anyone know how long it will take?If you had to send it to another country it may take over a week. Then it has to be processed, which could take a couple of days. Once approved a replacement should take a few more days to arrive to you. This is how it works if dealing with competent RMA systems. #2

Originally posted by my new friend:I just told them that it was damaged and after that they just said to ship the headset back for a new one and that it would be Inspected, scanned, and some other thing and I would be shipped a new one right after. It's at the warehouse already they just told me it takes 5-7 business days for them to see what's up with it and after I'll be emailed a tracking number for the new one that would be sent to me. #11Originally posted by Lost_Soul914:No I didn't tell them I broke it I just let them know it was damagedSo, you want Valve to figure out you broke it on their own and you didn't let them know ahead of time that you did?You are aware that not telling them will only make things complicated, right?

Since by law they do not have to.Personally, I was really honest with them when discussing my controllers. My left had a faulty power button. I told them I never punched anything, but I have had a ceiling scrape, one or two drops and a bump of a dresser. I also let them know my right thumbstick was grinding a bit, but in honesty wasn't (yet) messing with the thumbsticks movement. They said they'd replace both. Still waiting on my replacements after a little over three weeks now though.
