Vampire Diaries Star Joseph Morgan Teases Return In Legacies

The Vampire Diaries star Joseph Morgan has addressed the rumours about whether Klaus Mikaelson will be making a return in the Legacies season four finale – and he's just left fans with a major teaser.

Although Klaus died in the last episode of The Originals back in 2018, fans have been calling for his return in the Legacies spin-off ever since so that he could reunite with his daughter, Hope.

The actor took to Twitter on Wednesday (May 25) to address the speculation, and it's left eagle-eyed viewers more excited than ever.

He wrote: "First of all, I haven't seen any cast from the TVDU in years, not in person at least, I promise you that. All this speculation is gonna drive you crazy. Let go of these nonsense theories about hidden codes, Everyone knows Klaus Mikaelson is dead."

Hidden codes indeed. It's worth noting that the letter at the beginning of each new line of the tweet actually spells out the word 'finale'.

Morgan then followed up the tweet with a video 'debunking' the rumours once again, but that fact that the first letter of each sentence spells out 'Legacies', it's almost a sure thing that Klaus will be making a return.

Morgan made his TVD debut as Klaus back in 2011 until 2013, before starring in the show's first spin-off The Originals which centred around the lives of the Mikaelson family for five seasons.

He revealed last year that Klaus was originally only meant to appear in four episodes of TVD, and now he has fans begging for him to return from the dead.

"From the beginning it was always thought that Klaus would die at the end of season three," he said. "So I would come in at the end of season two, season three would be my big season of being this villain throughout the whole season and then the good guys would defeat me at the end of season three."

He continued: "Then a few things happened – one was of course the degree of passion with which the fans responded to the character and the other was that I was just having so much fun playing [him] and I always felt that for the character there wasn't enough room to grow in the setting of The Vampire Diaries."
