- FIND a 24/7 VEIP Self-Service Kiosk - Self-service VEIP kiosk can be used with vehicles model year 2005 or newer (under 8,500 lbs) and model year 2008 or newer (less than 14,000 lbs.). Kiosks only accept credit cards. View a tutorial on how to use the VEIP kiosk.
- WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING WITH ME? Please bring your vehicle registration card and the applicable fee to your nearest VEIP station or self-service VEIP kiosk. Full-service station fee - $30; Self-service kiosk fee (credit cards only) - $26.
- GET a COPY of MY VEIP NOTICE - view and download the emission test notice that MDOT MVA sent you in the mail.
- REQUEST a VEIP EXTENSION - A VEIP extension provides you with some additional time to have your vehicle tested. To request an extension on the myMVA eServices, you must have the vehicle title number and the current vehicle tag number. .
- REQUEST a VEIP WAIVER - A waiver eliminates the VEIP test requirements for the remainder of your vehicle's current test cycle (a test cycle typically lasts two years). Waivers are available for Out-of-Area Military, Senior Citizens, and Disabled. Conditions apply; based on eligibility. For quickest service, request your waiver online. Customers may also download and fill out the form EP-001 A and send electronically with ContactMVA. If you are requesting an Out-of-Area or Military Waiver, you must fill out a Certified Statement (EP-009) along with your waiver request.
- REQUEST a VEIP EXEMPTION - An exemption permanently eliminates the need for your vehicle to be tested because the vehicle meets certain criteria. If you are requesting an exemption, you must fill out a Certified Statement (EP-009) and send electronically with ContactMVA, by mail (see address below), or hand deliver it to any of the 18 VEIP stations located throughout Maryland.
