⇒ Art Victorian Artists Society (East Melbourne)Looking for painting classes? Like attending art exhibitions or art auctions? The Victorian Artists Society is for all who engage in and enjoy art. We hold regular painting classes in: oil, watercolour, pastels, mixed media, drawing plus sculpture. Classes are suited to levels from beginners to those wishing to extend their technique and creative expression. Art is exhibited continually throughout the year in our different gallery spaces. Our gallery spaces are available for hire to member and non member artists and art organisations. Whether you are an art beginner looking for an opportunity to learn art skills or appreciation, a more practiced artist wanting to hone or develop new skills, or someone wishing to showcase or collect artworks, we would be delighted to assist you in your endeavours. Our painting classes cater to art students at all levels over a wide range of mediums including: Oil, Pastel, Watercolour, Acrylic and Gouache. Lessons cover a range of Drawing Technique, Portraiture, Landscape, Still Life and Life Model. Day time and evening painting classes are conducted in the VAS Studio by well known artist teachers Visiting the Galleries Our five beautifully restored galleries feature exhibitions by VAS Members and renowned Australian and international artists. Our exhibitions display a diverse range of mediums and styles. The VAS Permanent Collection, displayed in the foyer is on rotation throughout the year. The collection features artwork by past VAS presidents, award winners and significant Australian artists. Our galleries are open weekdays 10pm to 4pm and weekends from 1pm to 4pm. We are closed on public holidays, unless advertised. The Victorian Artists Society galleries are open to the public for free entry.
