Many of you probably know there is a goat farm in Singapore called Hay Dairies. However, do you know that there is a cow farm in Singapore?

Viknesh Dairy Farm (Vishnu Cow Farm Singapore) is a farm located at Singapore Kranji countryside and is about 7 minutes drive from Kranji Marshes Singapore and very near to the Lim Chu Kang jetty.

The cow farm is one of its kind in Singapore and is free to visit. They are open daily from 9am to 6pm except for Deepavali.

On the day of our early morning visit, the owner just went out and we ‘explored’ the farm ourselves without guidance (there is another staff around busy with his work).

You can take a walk at the back of the working area to the cattle shed to have a look at the cows.

At the cow farm, there were at least 20 adult cows scattered throughout cattle shed. Most were sitting idly and a few immediately took interest of us and move towards us. We found out later that you can actually purchase some hay to feed the cattle. They must be waiting for us to feed them. So sorry.

A little surprise find while in the cow farm – Goats. There are probably a little more than 15 goats with their kid. The kids (the term used for young goats) are adorable and not shy at all and will even allow you to touch them.

As there were limited or almost no information and guide, we were no wiser after the visit on the animals’ feeding habits, the milking processes, fertility treatments and other relevant information that visitors to farms like these would often like to know.

Other information on the Cow Farm

They are a major leading milk supplying company here in Singapore and offer free home delivery of fresh cow milk in Singapore for their customers. Please take note that home delivery is only for min orders of 5 litres and above. Milk is also available for sale at the farm itself.

Do note that the milk is ‘raw’ milk i.e. non pasteurized and homogenized and you will have to boil it before use.

Tips by Viknesh Dairy Farm

Cow’s milk can be consumed in a variety of ways. Some of the most widely eaten milk products are yogurt, butter, cheese and ghee.
Cow’s milk should be boiled before drinking. Boiled milk stays fresh for a longer time in the refrigerator.
