Voice( வினை வகை)

There are three kinds of voice in Tamil language.They areActive Voice (செய் வினை)

The subject in the sentence is given the importance.EXAMPLE :

I sing the song . நான் பாட்டு பாடுகிறேன்.

Ram caught the ball. ராம் பந்தைப் பிடித்தான்.

Sita went to school. சீதா பள்ளிக்கூடம் சென்றாள்.

Passive Voice (செய்பாட்டு வினை )

When the object in the sentence is given importance and subject becomes the ending then it is reffered as Passive Voice.

EXAMPLES:

The flower was plucked by me. பூ என்னால் பறிக்கப்பட்டது.

A poem was written by her. கவிதை அவளாள் எழுதப்பட்டது.

I cooked the food. உணவு என்னால் சமைக்கப்பட்டது.

Impersonal Voice ( மறைமுக எழுவாய் வினை )

In a sentence , the verb is transitive and is mentioned as third person.The number or gender of the subject or object is irrespective.The number mentioned is always singular.Such a case is reffered as Impersonal Voice.

EXAMPLES:

I like singing songs. எனக்கு பாட்டுப் பாடப் பிடிக்கும்.

She like eating mangoes. அவளுக்கு மாம்பழம் சாப்பிடப் பிடிக்கும்.

He is having flu. அவருக்கு ஜுரமாக உள்ளது.
