On Sunday night, Walking Deadfans everywhere likely threw things at their television when Andrea (Laurie Holden) had a chance to kill the Governor (David Morrisey) but didn't. Before you question Andrea's allegiance, Holden wants to set the record straight.

"Let me just be clear, it was not out of love at all," Holden says of Andrea's decision not to slit her former flame's throat after returning to Woodbury. "So when the fans go nuclear, just so you know, that was not a, 'Oh, he's so handsome while he's sleeping and I have feelings for him.'"

The Walking Dead: What will happen when Andrea reunites with the group?

On Sunday's episode, Andrea reunited with the prison group to prevent further bloodshed. But after she discovered they were as murderous as the Governor, she returned home — but not before Carol (Melissa McBride) suggested that she kill The Governor in his sleep.

But Andrea, who was a human-rights attorney before the world went to hell, was ultimately unable to take The Governor's life. "She's never killed a human being," Holden explains. "She's killed a lot of zombies, but there's a big difference [between] harming someone in self-defense and killing someone in cold blood while they're sleeping."

Mega Buzz: When will we meet Negan on The Walking Dead?

"I think that when she looks down at him and she's about to do it, her better nature, her heart and her higher self comes in and says, 'OK, there's got to be another way. He was a father; he loved his wife. There's got to be a way that I can make peace,'" Holden continues. "You're going to see that that is what propels her. She's trying to figure out a way to save the people, not have any bloodshed and do so in a rational, peaceful way, just like Dale did with Randall in Season 2."
