yeahright361 Y I'm just wondering if anyone else has noticed anything similar to this. Ever since brickseek has started working for WalMart I've kept a little memo pad with a running tally of the stores in my area. I've noticed that one store when I started keeping track had 303 in stock. Over the course of about a month that number slowly dropped to 283 then the next day it jumped to 569. When it did that I made a trip over there and surprise, surprise nothing new. Anyway the levels at that store over the next month and a half slowly dropped from the 569 to 309 this past Thursday. When I checked it Friday night it had jumped to 950. Made a trip over there Saturday afternoon when I got off work and still nothing new put out. In fact I just checked the stock numbers and it's still 950. The other store near me is the same story with the exception that their stock numbers hover between 900-1000 but still with hardly anything on the pegs. When I checked that store Thursday night it said 921 and Friday it jumped to 1544. Made a trip to that one Saturday as well and was kinda thinking maybe a BOD but nope. However the pegs were full...... of F-case cars. I'm starting to think that either brickseek isn't working right ( which I don't think is the case cause it's been accurate for other stuff) or the stores have a boat load of cases in the back that they just don't want to bring out for whatever reason. I don't even bother asking employees anymore cause I always get either "What's out here is what we've got" or "The ones in the back are the same as what's out here" #1 · Jul 2, 2017 I'm just wondering if anyone else has noticed anything similar to this. Even if they get them in. They wait until there is room on the pegs to bring out a fresh case. #3 · Jul 2, 2017 I'm been reading post on the hotwheels collectors website that Walmart doesn't want to get dump bins in anymore. All they want to do now is put out cases on the pegs when the pegs get low. So it looks like you might have to start checking other store's now for new hotwheels at least for the Summer. So hopefully once fall gets here and holidays get here Walmart will change they're mine then and start getting hotwheels dump bins in again. #4 · Jul 2, 2017 (Edited) I could do without dump bins. Here is the issue I see. You initially get a large amount of the same case mixes at one time. The collectors go through them, parents pick some up for the kids, then they languish in dump bin purgatory while several cases mixes go by. Meanwhile, what is left in the bin isn't fit for anything and it just becomes a catch all for garbage and discarded items. I would much rather see less at one time, but filled on a consistent basis. That way you will always have fresh product and new case mixes. I have seen this same hateful cycle time after time with the dump bins. Maybe smaller dump bins? You will still get damaged and bent cards though. Doesn't matter to me because I open most everything, but a lot of collectors don't. Hard to get enthusiastic about this. This was at one store since Christmas and just kept getting worse week by week. Image [/IMG] #5 · Jul 3, 2017

It really doesn't matter all that much to me if WalMart puts out bins or not. I agree with you on the smaller bin idea. Maybe half size or so. What's really bugged me about the stores in my area lately is what's been on the pegs. When the stock levels have been how I listed them in the first post and not going down and I see the same cars on the pegs (never more than 10-20 cars at a time) it's annoying that they won't bring anything out and fill them. The two stores I check most often have about 20-25 pegs each. If each peg can hold 10 cars that 200-250 cars that can be out for sale. I don't know why it seems like they have an issue bringing them out, I'd even put them on the pegs for them if they brought out a couple cases. I don't even bother asking anymore though cause like I said I keep getting the same two answers whenever I do. It had been on the peg for almost a month after I first saw it hidden at the back in a ratty blister pack. Like some clerk punched a hole in the cardboard to hang it on the peg. Maybe it was a return? #9 · Jul 3, 2017 My store showed just under 600 cars last week. Now it shows just under 1000. I checked today and saw mostly empty pegs with a few cars on them. #10 · Jul 3, 2017 What is brickseek and how do you use it? #11 · Jul 3, 2017 Brickseek.com. You enter either the UPC or SKU (WalMart) or DCPI (Target) and your ZIP and it'll give you stock numbers for stores in your area. Here's the info for mainlines: WalMart SKU- 198372532 Target DCPI- 087-07-0027 Show more replies 0 Reply #13 · Jul 3, 2017 Must not work with postal codes. U.S. only? #14 · Jul 3, 2017 That I don't know. I'm in the US so it might only work with US ZIP codes. Anyone else have an answer for this? 0 Reply #15 · Jul 4, 2017 IDK maybe Brickseek is also considering what's on order and not just what's actually in the store? I'd posted several times about how the store here also had only a partially filled beat up selection of leftovers yet 800 cars in stock (supposedly) and they wouldn't put any out. And the lack of dump bins doesn't help anything really because now instead of the entire cache being put out at once, you've got a dozen of the same case sitting in the back that they'll put out one-by-one. You'll be sick of them long before they put that last case out. #16 · Jul 4, 2017 For the fun of it I put in the needed info and it says there are 960 "available" at my local store. The problem with that is the pegs are chocked with Spider Man castings. The reason they are there is someone at the store decided to take them from the trays and put them on the pegs. There are dozens of them. With the BODs gone for now it will be some time before these are gone. Insert Quotes Post Reply
