County Board Openings - Application Form

Ward County Weed Board

Ward County is now accepting applications for one position opening on the Ward County Weed Board. This is a four-year term and applicants must reside in area 1.

An area 1 qualified applicant must reside in one of the following townships: Denmark, Elmdale, Kenmare, Sauk Prairie, Spencer, Baden, Green Bush, Carbondale, or Ree.

The Weed Board meets four times a year, or as needed, to determine which weeds are noxious, to implement and pursue a program for control of the weeds and to make budgetary decisions in regards to the Weed Control program.

Appointment open until filled. Applications may be picked up at the Ward County Auditor/Treasurer’s office or on the County website www.wardnd.com

Ward County Public Library

Ward County is now accepting applications from citizens interested in filling an unexpired term on the Ward County Public Library Board. The term would expire June 30, 2026.

Regular meetings of the board are held at 1:30 PM on the second Tuesday of the month.

Appointment open until filled. Applications may be picked up in the Ward County Auditor/Treasurer’s Office or on the County website www.wardnd.com

Minot City Planning Commission

The Ward County Board of Commissioners is accepting applications for an unexpired term on the Minot City Planning Commission. This term is effective immediately and expires December 31, 2028.

Qualified applicants are to be non-city residents who reside within two-mile extra-territorial jurisdiction.

Appointment open until filled. Applications may be picked up at the Ward County Auditor/Treasurer’s office or on the County website at www.wardnd.com

Ward County Planning Commission

Ward County is currently accepting applications for two open positions on the Ward County Planning Commission. The 4-year term begins April 1, 2026.

The position is open to all citizens of Ward County.

The Planning Commission meets monthly to review and act upon subdivision plats, zoning changes and other planning related matters.

Members of the Ward County Planning & Zoning Commission receive a $50 per meeting attended stipend and are eligible for reappointment to subsequent four-year terms.

Deadline to apply for the position is March 11, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. Applicants will be interviewed at the Ward County Commission Meeting on March 17, 2026.
