Jelly Roll got emotional hearing his song, “Son Of A Sinner” on country radio for the first time.

The singer shared his reaction to hearing his song on country radio in a video posted to YouTube on Jun. 4.

“This is me on the radio y’all in Nashville, Tennessee…the first time I’ve heard myself on country radio,” he said in the video. “The Nashville boy, baby. I’m from Antioch [Tennessee], motherf*ckers, listen,” he added excitedly.

The singer then paused, so fans could hear his song playing on the radio, smiling and nodding along as he continued filming.

“Oh my God, look,” he continued, turning the camera so that fans could see his song was playing on 103.3 Country WKDF.

“I’ve had a sh*tty week, a horrible week, y’all,” Jelly Roll explained of his excited reaction. “Man, this is like God winking to me. This is like my dad telling me everything is going to be okay. Let’s f*cking go,” he signed off with tears in his eyes.

Jelly Roll’s “Son Of A Sinner” was the most-added song when it impacted country radio on Apr. 18, totaling 76 first-week stations. The song also reached No. 32 on the Billboard Country Music Chart and No. 40 at Mediabase.

He previously shared a video of himself performing the song in an area full of fans to YouTube on Apr. 13, remarking, “I can’t believe how big this song is getting wow.”

In addition to the success he’s found with “Son Of A Sinner,” Jelly Roll scored his first-ever No. 1 radio hit with his song, “Dead Man Walking” back on May 9. The song was played ~1,872 times from May 1-7 before rising two spots to hit No. 1.

The singer reacted to scoring his first No. 1 via a social media video in which he thanked his fans.

“I cannot believe I am able to do this video right now… Coming from where I came from and making music for the group of people that I make music for…” he captioned the video. “This is one of the biggest accomplishments of my entire life and career my first number 1 at radio thank y’all so much for supporting Dead Man Walking,” he said.

Jelly Roll, who is a rapper turned country-rocker, said he’s never felt more “welcomed” than he does in country music while speaking with Audacy’s Katie Neal during this year’s Tortuga music festival in Florida.

“I’m loving it,” the singer told Neal. “I’ve never felt more welcomed anywhere. I was born and raised in Nashville, so [country music] is always second nature to me. It’s incredible,” he added.

While discussing his current single, “Son Of A Sinner” with Neal, Jelly Roll shared that the song is just the beginning of his country music career.

“This is just the toe dip. We’re fixin’ to cannonball baby, we’re fixin’ to do a double-gaining backflip into [country music], it’s gonna happen,” he said.

Following the career success he’s experienced thus far with both “Son Of A Sinner” and “Dead Man Walking,” Jelly Roll will hit the road this summer with Brantley Gilbert on the Son Of The Dirty South Tour. The tour kicks off on Jun. 30 in Jacksonville, Florida, and concludes on Aug. 27 in Brandon, Mississippi at Brandon Amphitheater.
