Our Waxing Course is designed for those new to waxing treatments, who are looking to learn how to safely and successfully use warm wax to remove unwanted hair from legs, underarms, lip, chin and basic bikini line areas*. On completion, you can gain insurance to offer these services to clients from home and/or mobile.

You will be taught to carry out a range of the most popular waxing treatments, as well as learning the theoretical knowledge and safety procedures involved in practicing these treatments to an industry-standard.  You will be required to work on each other on the day, so as much sufficient hair growth as possible will be required.

Note: Students give and receive treatments working on pairs of students during training. See below in ‘Course Entry Requirements’ to check your suitability for this course.

*On the Waxing course you’ll be required to give and receive treatments therefore will need to ensure you allow hair (re)growth in the areas to be covered on the training day to a minimum of 0.5cm length to ensure all students have the best possible opportunity to practice their skills. Male students will need to provide their own female model to attend this training course.

Course structure

This course is structured over one day and runs from 10am – 4pm. We ask students to arrive at 9.45am to ensure a prompt start. You will learn the theory of the treatment firstly, and spend the majority of the day practising your practical skills, with a short break for lunch.

Course entry requirements

Our diploma courses are suitable for complete beginners and do not require any prior learning to be able to train with us; many of our students are not yet beauty trained and are looking to start up a business in the industry.  We welcome students of all abilities, whether you are looking to learn a new skill from scratch or currently working as a therapist and looking to refresh your knowledge of particular treatments.

Please note you will be required to give and receive treatments as part of the course and therefore will need to ensure you allow hair (re)growth in the areas to be covered on the training day. This must be a minimum of 0.5cm to ensure all students have the best possible opportunity to practice their skills. You will still have wax applied and removed to all areas, even in the absence of hair growth.

Students work upon each other so no models are required for the training day (nb: exception is male students who will need to provide their own female model).

All products and tools are provided for the training days at the centre when you attend. No kit is required to complete the training days, nor included in the course fee. On the training days, you only need to bring a hand and bath towel for your personal use, completed enrolment form and cold food for your lunch (e.g. sandwich/salad).

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

You must be able to both give and receive Waxing treatments successfully to be able to attend and pass this course. Prior to booking, please read the below list of contra-indications (conditions which prevent) waxing treatments to ensure you will not be affected by this. Where students attend but are unable to receive treatments, this makes it difficult for all learners in attendance to fully practice the skills. By booking your training place, you have confirmed you are fit and willing to fully partake in training.

For those who attend but cannot receive treatments due to a contra-indication, you will be unable to complete the course but as a goodwill gesture, we will transfer you to our equivalent online course.

Starter Kits

We do not include any kits within our training courses, however we provide all products and tools required to complete the practical training on the day, at the training centre for you to use. We took this approach following student feedback so that students are not tied into specific kits or brands of products as part of their course fee, before they are trained and able to make an informed choice. Our training courses teach the generic treatment techniques and processes, they are not brand specific.

We recommend attending training where you will gain advice about different brands and suppliers to enable you to purchase products from your chosen supplier directly following your training. We do offer selected starter kits available to purchase through our website & supplied directly from the supplier to you by courier.

Course benefits

Waxing treatments are sought after all year round to achieve smooth, hair-free skin, with clients returning every 4-6 weeks; offering this treatment will give you a continual source of income (earning up to £50 per hour) particularly during the summer months when waxing treatments are the most in-demand.

You will learn to remove hair from the most common and delicate areas, including upper lip, chin, legs, basic bikini line and underarms, using a variety of methods. Wax depilation provides a quick and efficient way of clearing small and large areas of unwanted hair, whilst the use of hot/warm wax, the traditional procedure of hair removal, is similarly as efficient and relatively pain-free for your clients in comparison to other methods.

At the end of your course, you will be qualified in providing waxing treatments from home or mobile, once insurance has been obtained.

Our tutors are also all qualified with either Level 4 PTTLS or equivalent teaching awards in education, with years of experience in beauty-related professional industries. Furthermore, our tutors who are involved in the assessment process all hold an Assessors Award.

We pride ourselves on the welcoming nature of our tutors and their ability to engage, educate and enrich students from all ages and backgrounds. What qualification will you receive?

When you have successfully completed your training course(s), you will receive a diploma certificate issued by The Beauty Academy accredited by ABT. This not only demonstrates your commitment to the training, but also allows you to obtain Public Liability Insurance so you can start offering treatments to paying clients from home and/or mobile.

Additional work required to complete this qualification

Once you have completed your practical training day with us, there is no additional work to be completed. Your diploma certificate will be sent to you within 1-2 working days and you can then begin working from home and/or mobile, once insurance has been obtained.

    One day waxing course at the Academy, was outstanding. The tutor is an assert to the business, made me feel very comfortable. I enjoyed the whole experience. The start and end of the session was extremely enjoyable, I will be hopefully taking up future courses….

  • Was a great day

    Alexia was amazing!!! It was on a small group of 3 of u so we all had plenty of opportunities to ask questions, do practical work and it couldn’t have ran any more smooth. She’s an assest to the company and appreciate all the knowledge she gave out for us to feel content we will be able to smash the procedures on our own. Thank you xx

  • Complete nail technician course

    My daughter and I have just completed 2 out of 3 days of the training and we were taught by Katy. Excellent tutor, very in-depth training and some really helpful suggestion on products to buy to start off. I will definitely be booking more courses.

    I did my waxing course today at The Beauty Academy London Bridge, It was Clean and top notch. It was excellent, My tutor Kerry was just beyond amazing, she taught each and every stuff about waxing. I’m gonna be coming back again soon for more courses. The best school i’ve ever been to. Highly Highly recommend to all the people out there looking to grow in Beauty Career.

  • Waxing course birmingham

    Have recently completed the waxing course in birmingham, Sam was our lovely, knowledgeable tutor. No question was silly and we all felt supported. By the end of the day i felt confident to carry out waxing and have already put this into practice. Great course, recommend you read the pre-course documents so you get lots of practical experience.

    Kayleigh my tutor was absolutely amazing. I have learnt so much from her, not just about this course, but also about confidence and my own abilities. She was fun, kind, patient and encouraging whilst teaching me in depth. Couldn’t have asked for a nicer tutor. So grateful!

    This course totally exceeded my expectations as I am new to waxing. Special thanks to my tutor (omg, I missed her name). Such a lovely instructor at the Cambridge centre. So detailed, informed, experienced, and knowledgeable. I’ll definitely recommend this to anyone who’s interested in booking this course. It was absolutely worth the price.

  • Fantastic waxing training

    Booked onto the basic waxing course in Milton Keynes. Clare was my tutor and her knowledge and experience was fantastic, she explained everything very well , she was always on hand to answer questions and made me feel very welcome. I was nervous before starting the course , not really knowing what to expect but can honestly say I had a great day and now looking at attending other courses in the future. Thank you Clare for all your help

    On the way to the course, I was so nervous. When i got in the room, met the other students and then Gill introduced herself.   • Beginners Waxing

    I really enjoyed my intro to waxing day course and am really looking forward to my intimate waxing day ! The day was very informative and relaxed. Everyone was in good spirits and willing to take part which was nice. I want to say a big thank you to Gill who is one of the loveliest ladies, she was so positive and such a calm and clear tutor, she really made the day the best experience. Can’t wait to start on my waxing journey in the salon now 🙂
