When you're applying both foundation and concealer, start with foundation first because you may need less concealer once the foundation is applied. There are different ways to apply the product, such as with a brush or with, a sponge or even with just your bare hands. It really depends on your preference.

Every makeup artist has their own style of applying foundation and concealer. Personally, I created a technique of my own where I learned to blend shades depending on the skin if it's a lighter, darker or neutral tone.

Some makeup artists prefer to apply concealer only, but it depends on the client's complexion if the skin is extra smooth or if some acne scars need to be not too visible with makeup being not too heavy but natural looking. I follow the triangle shape, and I use concealer for the eyes and foundation on the face.

Well, based on makeup books, the foundation comes first before concealer.
Blending is key, especially if you have something to conceal. But sometimes I do let some dark circles show because I feel that it's more real and relatable, you know what I mean? I won't cover it completely because sometimes you'll look puffy. We don't want that!
Also, you'll find this crazy, but you know when I see that a blemish can be turned into fake freckles—I don't cover it completely. I turn it into a beauty mark by adding colour using a cool tone brow pen.

There's no rule on how to apply foundation and concealer. You can either use a brush, blender or your fingers. I prefer applying a light layer of foundation first using a brush and blending it with a blender; that sometimes ends up being enough. I'll layer the concealer over only if necessary.
