One of the most common questions we get is “wen wipe?”, so today's blog post aims to answer that. We will go through the wipe schedule in full detail and how we intend to streamline the process as much as possible to make sure it’s easy to understand for everyone!

So “Wen Wipe?”

All the core Rust Console Edition servers will follow the same monthly wipe schedule which will be on the last Thursday of every month at 11am PST/2pm EST/7pm BST. This is applicable regardless of server region and/or time zones. We understand the urge for players to be among the first to join the freshly wiped servers so we want to have a predictable and easy to follow pattern for all of you. In the image below you can see the planned dates for the first four months of wipes. The first one will be on June 24th.

During the first month after launch, any core Rust servers added to help with capacity will also wipe alongside the others to keep the schedule, and maintain future cadence with the rest. A short window of down time may be needed when wipe happens, as this is a great time for maintenance. We want to reduce this time as much as possible, for now expect at least 20 minutes before the start of the next wipe but we will message in-game on various outlets to make sure you know when the “wipepocalypse” is coming!

As for blueprints we will avoid wiping them as much as possible but in some cases it might be needed to maintain the stability of the game. If this is the case we will let you know beforehand. We are planning “blueprint always wipe” servers, for those that would like a fresh experience every month!

What about Weekly Wipes?

Due to popular demand we will host some less conventional servers with weekly wipes and biweekly (We planned to add biweekly wipes soon after launch, but due to the update schedule, this is not possible without causing these types of servers to be out of sync eventually). We expect these to be popular with new players who join Rust mid-wipe but also good fun to switch to if you are having an awful wipe.

More information on when they are going to be available will come in the following weeks! These servers will be wiped every Thursday or every other Thursday at 11am PST/2pm EST/7pm BST, respectively. There are other exciting features we are working on related to the official servers, but we are not ready to reveal them just yet. Be sure to keep an eye on our website and social media for updates!
