AnswerVerifiedVerified527.1k+ viewsHint: Biomes are defined as large-scale environments that are distinguished by characteristic temperature ranges and amounts of rainfall (precipitation). They are of various types depending upon the environmental conditions.Complete answerThe best biome where humans live is the temperate deciduous biome. The species are rich in this biome but species richness is less than in comparison to the evergreen biome. These temperate deciduous biomes are best for the conversion of biomes into the cities for the purpose of the housing for humans. It always changes thus results in the four seasons that include summer, winter, autumn, and rainy seasons. Deciduous forest trees shed their leaves in autumn and bear them again in spring. They are also named as the broad-leaf trees or also called the hardwood trees. They are located at an altitude of around 1500-2400 cm at the Himalayan foothills. They are found to receive around 100-250 cm annual rainfall. The Birch, Oak (Quercus), Hickory beech, etc are the vegetation that is found in this region. The temperate deciduous forests are found to lose their leaves from their trees at the end of the autumn season which is also known as their growing season. This shedding of leaves is observed in the case of the temperate deciduous forest while in the tropical and subtropical deciduous forests it occurs during the dry seasons. The word deciduous is derived from the Latin word ‘decidere’, meaning ‘to fall off’. The process of loss of leaves In deciduous plants is called abscission. This type of biomes are found in mostly the areas of Europe, the areas of Canada, China, the eastern United States, and Japan. seo images Note: The eight major terrestrial biomes on the planet are tropical rainforests, savannas, subtropical deserts, chaparral, temperate grasslands, temperate forests, boreal forests, and Arctic tundra. The richest biome is the tropical rainforests that consist of a huge number of the flora and fauna. They have favorable environmental conditions that give rise to a large and diverse species and are generally found at or around the equator of the earth.
