I've apped for Chase twice...in Dec and then in January.

They pulled EX both times. I'm in Connecticut.

This is for a Freedom, btw.

They'll hit TransUnion for the Freedom and Sapphire cards. For my Freedom app, they also hit my EQ report.

After doing quite a bit of research on this, it appears as though they almost always pull EX in Southern California, and almost always pull EQ in Northern California.

One exeption to the SoCal, NorCal thing is that if you apply for a new card as well as a CLI on an existing card.. for example I'm going to be applying for CSP as well as a CLI on my Freedom, since I am in Norcal, they will pull EQ for the first one whichever that is, but may switch to EX or TU for the 2nd app. Both will likely also be HPs. YMMV on this also. They might just do 2 separate HPs on EQ for me if they're sticklers about sticking with the location-based pull patterns.
