I've had a hydrocele on my left side for about 5 years now, and initially, doctors said it was normal and didn't need treatment. But last month, my doctor recommended surgery. I'm really trying to avoid surgery are there any other options? I've been doing a fruit diet and cold hip baths, but I'm not sure if that's enough. What else can I try?

While a fruit diet and cold hip baths might offer some temporary relief, they won't resolve a hydrocele. Once a hydrocele persists or becomes large enough to cause discomfort or becomes unsightly, surgery (hydrocelectomy) is generally the recommended treatment, according to multiple sources. Other options like aspiration and sclerotherapy may be considered, but they often come with a higher risk of recurrence than surgery.
