Ugh! This is a daily problem for me. Does it mean my underwear are too small? Wrong cut? I usually wear bikini cut briefs.

Look at Soma vanished edge underwear. It has small strips of silicone? that keep the edges from riding up.

I think it's a combination of wrong size and wrong cut. I wear hipsters now and they never ride up the way bikinis did.

If you mean the fabric all ends up between your bum cheeks, I think it's when you have a deep crack (curvy booty). I notice flatter bottomed girls never seem to have their underpants creep in there. I can't wear bikini or boyshorts for this reason, only wide- sided underpants. And thongs just plain hurt.

Underwear doesn't stand well to the test of time. The countless washing, dryer, wearing/rubbing g against other fabrics will slowly and subtly loosen the elasticity of it.

+1 once the elasticity is gone, the size and shape is different, and it's up your butt. I have a curvy booty and prefer cheekies or thongs.

Wrong size / cut and / or poor design. I'm addicted to Vanity Fair bikinis and have like 20 pairs. They never ride up (on me).

If there isn't enough fabric to cover your butt cheeks, it will ride up. The more fabric, the less riding.

Too small. Size up.

It happens if they're too big too. The elastic is not tight enough against the skin to hold them in place.

Pants too tight? That can cause friction that pushes your underwear into your crack.

They sound pricey. I think I'd have to try putting a little strip of glue from a hot glue gun on the edges of the underwear I already have and see if that helps.

Jockey no panty line bikinis work for me. They don't go in the dryer, but cold water wash in a lingerie bag is fine - hang to dry. The dryer breaks the elastic and then they will ride up/ not stay in place.

I have a big rear ("deep crack," lol) and I need to size up to avoid this - - 3 sizes above what the package measurements say I need. I wear hipsters or high waist grannies.

I don't have any that does at the moment. I don't think there's one explanation for all people. Obviously there needs to be enough fabric to cover so maybe size up. But, I'm petite and I've found that if the crotch is too long, it may as well be a thong, e.g. Taking a one inch tuck would solve the problem The only solution is trying multiple brands and cuts and stocking up on what works.
