He is one of 17 players in the history of golf to win at least three of the four majors.

He announced that he has been diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis and according to media reports, he first developed symptoms right before the US Open.
However, the pain quickly became so severe that he could not even walk.
He began medical treatments and turned to the vegetarian lifestyle in the hopes of helping his recovery.
Mickelson, however, was not a huge fan of this lifestyle and began to eat meat again after five months.
Luckily, the short- and long-term prognoses were good and his golfing career was not affected.
At that time, he also stated that arthritis may go into permanent remission after one year of medical treatment.
