wowchad I bought a supposedly "NOS genuine OEM half shaft" for my 2012 G1 Outlander XMR. When it came in I noticed to country code CN on the tag which implies made in China. So I hit the web to do some research on countries they Mfg. their parts in to see if I was ripped off or not. I found an old thread here on Can-Am forum talking about the company, Can-Am stands for Canadian - American and also where they're made, which I always thought Austria, Canada, Mexico & US. That old thread from May 26th 2014 someone said "once they start making parts in China it's all over" Well this shaft # 705501484 was apparently Mfg in China way back in 2012 unless it is in fact a knock-off, but hard to tell. BTW I only tore an inner boot, but you can buy a complete 1/2 shaft so cheap these days it doesn't pay to replace just the boot...well that was my thinking anyway. Check out the pics of the lable & markings on the axle to see what ya'll think. Pretty confident you did in fact get something NOS off some dusty shelf north of the border #4 · Sep 20, 2021 Absolument BB tu as raison 😜 You're absolutely right BB 😉 1 Reply #3 · Sep 20, 2021 A boot is $531? #5 · Sep 21, 2021 I think it’s a half shaft and boot , I should hope so anyways Show more replies 0 Reply

#9 · Sep 22, 2021 Except the C 😬 #10 · Sep 22, 2021 CN = Canada.... Ghina would be PRC if it doesn't spell out China. I know Can-Am does have some of its manufacturing in Mexico 🇲🇽 but as far as i know the majority of the components are made in North America. I'm sure the chips are off shore #13 · Sep 23, 2021 Not trying to argue about country codes, but it matters.
