mdxq5 M This light comes on when driving and sometimes it stays on, other times it comes on and goes away. The tire pressure in each tire is at the recommended level or a bit higher. Does this mean I need to change the TPMS sensor in each tire? Thanks! #1 · Nov 4, 2019 (Edited by Moderator) This light comes on when driving and sometimes it stays on, other times it comes on and goes away. you probably have one going bad, weak battery, just check the one thats not giving you a reading on your dash #4 · Nov 4, 2019 when the light is on, I cant see a reading for any tire. when the light goes off, i can see the reading for all 4 tires, and they are all at the recommended # or a little higher. Show more replies 0 Reply #3 · Nov 4, 2019 TPMS stands for Tire Pressure Monitoring System. If you have this light, this means either one or more of your wheels have too low pressure or one or more of your sensors are either missing or not functional. #5 · Nov 4, 2019 Would you guys recommend changing the valve stem and caps also since the tire has to be taken off and mounted back on? Thanks ! #6 · Nov 4, 2019 No. There is no valve stem etc. The valve stem is built in the sensor. Read this, it has everything you need to know. www.mdxers.org

[DIY] 2nd Gen TPMS sensors replacement and other info

I had a new set of tires installed today. (Also put the best used tire on my full size spare.) I went for a 4-mile drive for lunch and everything was fine. In my trip back home tonight, after about 12 miles while I was cruising at about 65 miles on freeway, all of a sudden, a 'Check TPMS system'... www.mdxers.org www.mdxers.org #10 · Nov 7, 2019 would you guys recommend changing all 4, or have the shop determine which one has the weak battery and change that one only? #11 · Nov 7, 2019 Up to you. They're like $90 per sensor, or something like that. It was replaced under warranty, so I don't know the exact amount, but that's how much the tire shop said they cost. I had one go out about 2 years ago. Replaced it and left the other three alone. It's been all good since. You have to figure out which one it is. When they're working it might be difficult to tell. When mine went, the sensor was reading like 54 psi one minute and then like 17 the next. So, I knew which one was bad. #12 · Nov 7, 2019

Nope. OEM sensors are just $35 for one, $140 for a set of four. That's like a dollar monthly, or $13 annually for the entire sensors lifespan.

What I would do is time it with a tire change (if you're due for new tires). And yes, change all 4 at once and forget about it. Also ask them to give you the old sensors back if possible. I would try and crack them open to replace the batteries and possibly get them ready for another set of tires. My friend tore his hair out over false alarms from his TPMS. He eventually determined that his power adapter plugged into his cigarette lighter socket that was powering his GPS device was interferring with the TPMS sensor. As long as he kept the GPS and the adapter unplugged the TPMS gave him no false alerts. Technology. We love it and hate it. #17 · Nov 19, 2019 It means your TPMS batteries are dead. One to all could be. Discount tire can scan your sensors to see which are dead. I get the error every winter as the batteries don't work as well. I have an 07. I'm going to replace those darn sensors one day! #18 · Nov 19, 2019 I took it to NTB today and they said they couldnt reproduce the issue and the battery looked OK to them...they wouldnt use my sensor and wanted me to use their stock. I passed and took it to another shop to put my sensors on #19 · Sep 12, 2022 In Acura MDX 2007, I discovered that the negative cable on the battery get so hot and at some point the engine went off and refuse to start immediately until it got cold before I could start the engine. What could be the problem??? Insert Quotes Post Reply
