Typically, DMs are multiplayer free-for-alls, in which the player who kills the other players the most number of times wins. DMs end either when a player scores the number of kills needed to win the match (often referred to as a frag limit) or when the match's timer runs out. Most good PvP FPSes include a deathmatch mode, as do some real-time strategy (RTS) games.
