What does DMT look like?

In its pure form, DMT (N,N-Dimethyltryptamine) is a white, crystalline powder. However, it may be more frequently encountered in shades of yellow to pink when its composition is not as pure.[1] DMT is also often consumed as ayahuasca, a brewed drink, typically made from chacruna leaves and caapi vine although other recipes exist. When brewed, ayahuasca is a reddish-brown liquid.

Usually, DMT is derived from organic material, such as the root bark of the jurema tree, which appears slightly purple, and the leaves of the chacruna shrub.[2]
