63lukeukposted 14 years agoI think it basically means to stop feeling sorry for yourself. Sort of like saying stop dwelling on a particular event.

68xethonxqposted 14 years agoThey're probably telling you to stop being arrogant and full of yourself...or they might be telling you to pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and try again (i.e. quit assuming a victim stance)....or they are projecting.

78Wesman Todd Shawposted 14 years agoIt means that they are angry with you. That's absolutely it.Now, what you must do is figure out how much you respect that person's opinion. If it's someone who's opinion you value, then you may wish to consider that they are telling you that your ego is a bit bloated. The opposite could also be true - a bloated ego well recognizes a threat to it's self, and so it tries at times to "project" it's own sickness onto another by saying such things as "get over yourself."

0reeltaulkposted 14 years agoGet over yourself basically means it's not about you as much as you think it is or want it to be.....so it's best to get over the infatuation already.

0Saugasfinestposted 14 years agoI think that asking that question is a good example of someone who predominantly over thinks their status in a social dynamic.Get over yourself to me means that you think too highly of your own opinion or yourself or of your effect on a situation therefore leading you to over analyze and question each persons opinion and mistakenly taking it for something aim at you.I would need the scenario it was used in to clearly observe and reflect if it was an accurate statement.
