“Opp” is something that you may have already encountered when listening to some of your favorite rappers, especially if they are from the Chicago area. 

Meek Mill, Little Baby, and many more have used “Opps” or “Opp” in their songs but what does it mean? Opp is simply a shortened version of “opposition.” When you are referring to some resistance or enemies, you may use the term. For example:

“My old man is my opp. He never believed in my happiness or my success.”

And

“I hope my best friend supports me and does not become an opp! I know that he has a nasty side.”
