What happened to Megan Thee Stallion’s mother, Holly Thomas?

On March 22, 2019, Megan Thee Stallion’s mother Holly Thomas lost her battle with brain cancer; she was 47.

Megan announced the tragic news via Instagram and shared: “The best mom in the whole world.

“The strongest woman on the planet. I can’t even put complete sentences together rn RIP mama.”

That same month, Holly’s death coincided with her grandmother’s passing.

She later confessed to fans: “This year, I lost my mom and my grandmother in the same month.

“Although all these positive things have been happening to me, and I’ve been trying to do good, been trying to keep a smile on my face,  stay strong, to stay happy for me and my other grandmother and the rest of my family…it’s pretty hard.

“I just wanted to spread some positivity and tell ya’ll to stay positive, stay kind through your hard times because the pain doesn’t last forever.”

Megan often cites her late mother as her main musical influence.

When Megan was 15 years old, she lost her father Joseph Pete.

Regarding her childhood with her parents, she recalled to Marie Claire: “My dad was definitely my best friend.

“But for the first eight years of my life, he was in jail. When he got out, we were together every day

“I saw how he treated my mom and I saw how my dad treated me.

“I have so many strong positive influences. I’m not going to lower my standards.”

What is the Pete and Thomas Foundation?

On February 15, 2022, Megan launched the Pete and Thomas Foundation.

The Pete and Thomas Foundation is a community outreach program that assists families with education, housing, and health and wellness needs.

The organization was named in honor of Holly and Joseph.

The company operates in many US locations including Houston, New York City, Miami, Los Angeles, and Chicago.

In a press release, she stated: “Launching the Pete and Thomas Foundation is easily one of the most significant endeavors that I’ll ever be part of in my career.
