What Is A PR Bond - Michigan Criminal Defense

Return to Glossary

PR Bond Definition

When a judge grants a PR bond, also known as a Personal Recognizance Bond, the defendant is released without any deposit or security. They must promise to appear in court with the condition that they owe the court money if they fail to appear or violate their bond. When a judge arraigns a defendant on a warrant or new charge, a good criminal defense lawyer gives them their best chance of getting a PR bond.
