It’s more of a phrase used to show that someone isn’t afraid of you, or they don’t really care. Or in other words, it could literally mean to 一口 / 私をかむ

When someone says “Bite me!” They can mean that they are annoyed at the person talking to them. It can be sort of rude to say if you aren’t joking

Oh boy where do we start with “bite me”??? Well, beside some animal or human actually biting you, it has many different and colorful use in the colloquial, informal, slang world. You can use “bite me” as another way of saying “shut up” or “go to hell” or “fuck off” and such to people. You can also hear the expression “it came back to bite me in the ass” when you did something and it didn’t work out and actually made things worse! Hope it helps!

I disagree with amber.... I've never heard of bite me being used to me that you're not afraid of someone or that you don't care.. It's like saying Fck off as others have mentioned, except it's nowhere near as strong.
