In terms of flavor of sweetness, mangoes are considered the sweetest fruits in the world, particularly the carabao mango, according to the Guinness Book of World Records. The sweetness of a fruit is often determined by the person, not necessarily the fruit's sugar content.

When speaking about the sweetness of fruits according to their sugar content, dates, bananas, figs and persimmons are the sweetest fruits. Dates contain 73 grams of sugar, bananas have just over 20 grams of sugar, figs have 19 grams of sugar and persimmons have 18.6 grams of sugar. Behind them, the sweetest fruits according to sugar content are guavas, lychees, pomegranates, lemons and grapes.
