Takonic T i see it in my monitor settings..but its grreyed out..what is it? ASCR? #1 · Apr 21, 2011 i see it in my monitor settings..but its grreyed out..what is it? ASCR? Sort by Oldest first Oldest first Newest first Most reactions #2 · Apr 21, 2011 It's something called "ASUS Smart Contrast Ratio". It sounds kinda like the Dynamic Contrast that Samsung's SyncMaster LCD monitors have, and to be quite honest I don't like this Dynamic Contrast feature so I never use it. In other words, if you were able to use it, then you may find that it's distracting because it automatically (dynamically) changes the contrast depending on what the monitor thinks it is displaying. #3 · Apr 21, 2011 asus smart contrasting ratio. It's an asus, right? edit: ninja'd again! #4 · Apr 21, 2011 yeah...and ugh..dynamic contrast..no thanks..my Sharp TV would dimm on and off with dynamic contrast or brightness w/e.. ..thanks! #5 · Apr 21, 2011 Quote:

You're welcome! I admit that at first I was disappointed that I was never going to use this feature, but I don't mind anymore. smile.gif To me, it's like how Windows 7 has nice features that I never use, but I still love Windows 7. #6 · Sep 1, 2014 Quote:

ASCR on Asus monitors, is much better then the Samsung version. My screen always looks bright and clear. Would highly recommend using it. My monitor is the MX299Q. It really does bring the monitor to life. thumb.gif #7 · Sep 8, 2014 Quote:

I just played around with it. Turning mine to gaming mode seems to unlock the most options at the same time, and you have control over sharpness, saturation, but my panel doesn't appear to have a setting purely for gamma. It has a few other settings that do something similar. #8 · Dec 25, 2020 Almighty Simon City Royals Insert Quotes Post Reply
