It is not a good idea to feed them fruit or vegetables as well as grains as they cannot digest these foods well and potentially can become very sick.
We look at foods you should and should not be feeding your Ferret.
Foods your ferret should eat:
- Chicken, chicken wings, stripped chicken carcasses, organs
- Lamb, lamb hearts, organs
- Beef, beef mince, organs
- Raw animal bones (used to clean ferrets teeth)
- High quality premium kitten food (Main ingredients need to be meat)
- Fresh water
- Quality meat products
- Cooked egg (as a treat)
Foods your ferret should not eat:
- Fruits such as but not limited to: apples, pears, bananas, kiwi fruit, oranges,
- Vegetables such as but not limited to: spinach, broccoli, brussel sprouts, onions green beans
- Chocolate
- Rice
- Salt
- Peanut Butter
- Grains/Nuts

Baby Ferrets should be fed a combination of fresh meat, water and lactose free milk. Your Ferret should be eating a diet that is high in animal protein and fat and very little carbohydrates. Feeding your ferret a variety of different raw meats, bones, organs and occasionally some treats, should keep them happy and healthy.
