We are occasionally asked about what sound a platypus makes, and we have to confess, we are at a bit of a loss.

Despite its duckbilled visage, we are pretty certain it does not quack.

Intense research (google) revealed the following: The platypus makes a variety of sounds. When they are disturbed, they may make soft growling sounds, like that of a puppy.
