What Time Does The NBA Dunk Contest Start? TV Schedule, Format ...

For the third time in NBA history, Cleveland will host the All-Star Weekend. The 2022 NBA All-Star Weekend, the 71st edition of the spectacle, will take place during the league's landmark 75th season. 

Coincidentally, each of the previous times the city has hosted the midseason extravaganza, the league has celebrated a landmark season: 35th (1981) and 50th (1997).

This season's schedule of events for the All-Star Weekend is back to the regular three-day format from Friday to Sunday.

What time does the NBA Dunk Contest start?

• Day, Date: Saturday, Feb. 19
• Time: 8 p.m. ET

This year's AT&T Dunk Contest is back as the final and headliner event of State Farm All-Star Saturday Night, which is scheduled to start at 8 p.m. ET at the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland.

The Dunk Contest will be broadcast on TNT in the United States and TSN 4/5 in Canada.

Slam Dunk Contest participants, format

• Cole Anthony, Orlando Magic
• Juan Toscano-Anderson, Golden State Warriors
• Obi Toppin, New York Knicks
• Jalen Green, Houston Rockets

This season, the number of participants in the AT&T Slam Dunk contest is back to four after the league fielded three during last year's All-Star Weekend in Atlanta. 

The Knicks' Toppin will return for a second appearance while Toscano-Anderson, Anthony and Green make their debut in the NBA's AT&T Slam Dunk Contest.

All four contestants will get two dunks in the first round. The two players with the highest combined score advance to the final round. In the final round, the two remaining contestants will get two dunks, and the contestant with the highest combined score for his two dunks will be crowned champion.

NBA All-Star schedule 2022

Below is the schedule of events for the 2022 NBA All-Star Weekend from Feb. 18-20. 

On Friday, the Ruffles NBA All-Star Celebrity Game will be played at 7 p.m. ET at the Wolstein Center in Cleveland and will be broadcast on ESPN. That will be followed by the Clorox Rising Stars at 9 p.m. ET on TNT at the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland.

On Saturday, the State Farm All-Star Saturday Night, which tips off at 8 p.m. ET, includes three events: Taco Bell Skills Challenge, MTN DEW 3-Point Contest and AT&T Slam Dunk Contest. 

On Sunday, the Weekend's headline event - the 71st NBA All-Star Game - will be played at 8 p.m. ET at the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland.
