Besets by delays to hone the experience, Halo: Infinite was finally released on November 15. Players were treated to a rebuilt multiplayer experience, introducing new elements such as a grapple hook, while keeping the spirit of classic games like Halo 2.

But one crucial element was missing. The single player campaign.

Now it is here. On December 8, the full game is released.

What time does it release?

The campaign mode will be available at 10.00 a.m. PST and at 01.00 p.m. EST.

What is known so far

A preload of the campaign is available to download now, at the size of 62.78 GB. However, this can only be used by PC players; Xbox players have to wait until it is fully released to start the download, while the game will obviously not be released on PlayStation. The game is owned by Microsoft, after all.

For the first time, Halo is becoming an open-world game, for the uninitiated this means players can visit anywhere on a sprawling map, rather than the traditional, railroad designs of previous halo games. That doesn't mean Infinite will feel a difference to classics like Halo 3. The new design means there are plenty of opportunities for those classic large-scale pitched battles that are iconic in the Halo franchise.

This also means the game will have the longest campaign of any Halo game, with the game expected to last between 8 and 10 hours. However, this is only if players do not explore the full map and find all its secrets, which could pump the game up to more than 15 hours of gameplay.
