If you're looking for a quicker version, try my twice-baked potatoes made in the air fryer! It saves so much time and they can be made easily on the small baking tray.
Let's Get started!
What you choose to be your main, whether that be, red meats, fish, or something light such as chicken, can define your whole meal.
Meat Mains
1. Chicken Cordon Bleu
German Chicken cordon bleu is a feast for the eyes, as picture-perfect as the potatoes, and easier than it looks!
The most traditional filling is ham and cheese, but you can add whatever you'd like. I've always wanted to try it with bacon (Let me know how it is if you try it!)
2. Easy Salmon Fillets
This classy, delicious salmon fillet recipe is easy and elegant. Pair it with twice-baked potatoes for the perfect dinner party plate or a feel-good meal at home.
Just a few simple ingredients and 20 minutes are all you need. Don’t forget a squeeze of lemon on top!
3. Meatloaf
Oma's meatloaf recipe is traditional and ever so good. Eat it hot or cold, bacon-wrapped, or even more traditionally, with egg in the middle!
Try something even MORE German, and try this meatloaf with hidden cauliflower inside. Get your meat and veggie in one!
4. Pork Chops
A simple pork chop recipe is something that everyone loves. After spending time prepping twice-baked potatoes, it can be a nice break to have something quick to make as a main.
You can have these chops breaded, prepped, and cooked in no time!
5. Rouladen
You HAVE to check out Oma's authentic rouladen recipe. Rouladen is such a traditional German recipe. Try dipping your twice-baked potatoes in the gravy for a real treat of rich flavor.
Make it even easier in the pressure cooker. Trust me, once you try rouladen you'll never go back!
Honorable Meat Mentions
Go to Flatladen
Go to schnitzel
Go to chicken Veggie Sides
6. Baked Cherry Tomatoes
A beautiful tomato side ... Oma's roasted cherry tomatoes! It's a great option if you're looking for something yummy to make from those homegrown tomatoes.
As someone who could eat cherry tomatoes like candy, this dish is the best treat!
7. Brussels Sprouts
These brussel sprouts with a creamy sauce would be a lecker choice to go with twice-baked potatoes. This recipe will be your new favorite way to enjoy brussels.
Looking for something a little different? Maybe vegan? Check out these brussels sprouts with balsamic vinegar!

8. German Red Cabbage
This German red cabbage recipe is an absolute MUST for get-togethers. Mixing apples into your red cabbage gives the best blend of sweet and sour.
Some might say that this is the best choice when it comes to sides, and I can fully say that I agree!
Honorable Vegetable Mentions
go to carrots
go to cauliflower
go to cabbage Soup Sides
9. Broccoli Cheddar Soup
Potatoes are a heart-warming dish, so why not pair the ultimate heart-warming dish alongside? Soup! Broccoli cheddar soup is where it's at.
Using the remaining cheese from the potatoes to sprinkle on top to get a melted cheese string with every spoonful is the best feeling.
10. Green Bean Soup
Green bean soup quickly became my family's number one favorite of Oma's German soups. Add spicy sausage for extra kick. This is one of those recipes that tastes even better the next day too.
Make a big pot to last all week!
11. No Bean Chili
It may be called Oma's no bean chili, but this recipe can be made with or without them. What makes a great chili is how well the ingredients you choose, come together in harmony to create something truly delicious.
I love to add shredded lettuce and cheese on top, then scoop it with tortilla chips. It's like a giant taco chili bowl!
Honorable Soup Mentions
go to asparagus
Go to kale soup
go to goulash Don't those all look so easy and lecker? Now that we've made it to the end of our top dishes to serve with twice- baked potatoes, it's time to get cooking, boiling and creating!
