Wheat Seeds

Wheat seeds are an item that can be planted through Farming.

They can be gathered through breaking tall grass found mostly in the grassland biome. Up to three seeds and one wheat can be harvested from a Wheat crop. Also, if a mob or player jumps on the wheat crop while it's growing, it will be destroyed. Unless you hold shift to crouch while moving through them, it's recommended that you block the area around it.

The following video shows the whole process of tilling the land with a Hoe and then planting Wheat Seeds inside to grow Wheat.

Uses

Wheat has two main uses - breeding, and crafting to make food.

Recipes

Bread: Three wheat can be crafted to make one loaf of bread, which will heal two and a half bars of hunger upon consumption.

Cake: Wheat can also be used in crafting cake alongside other ingredients. Cake is a placeable block that can still be eaten.

Cookies: Finally, two wheat and one cocoa bean can be used to craft 8 cookies. These heal half a hunger bar each upon consumption.

History

Prior to the version Beta 1.8, Wheat Seeds were originally named Seeds, as they were the only seeds at the time.
