Whether your favourite Christmas film is Home Alone, Love Actually or Die Hard, a range of classic movies are showing on TV this year.

‌

As well as on live TV, certain film franchises such as Harry Potter are available on streaming services just in time to celebrate the festive season.

‌

So there's something for you and the whole family to watch while you're in your best Christmas pyjamas.

This year, Home Alone, Love Actually and Die Hard are all showing on live TV during the holiday period.

SurreyLive has looked at what channels, dates and times they are on the TV schedule this year.

Home Alone

Home Alone will show on Channel 4 at 6pm on Friday, December 24 - Christmas Eve.

The second movie in the trilogy, Lost in New York, will be shown at 5.15pm on Christmas Day, December 25.

Home Alone 3 is also on the same channel at 1.55pm on December 26, Boxing Day.

Die Hard

ITV is showing Die Hard on December 22 at 10.45pm.

Love Actually

Love Actually - directed by Richard Curtis and starring the likes of Keira Knightly and Colin Firth - will be shown at 9pm on ITV2 on December 21. Some scenes from the festive favourite were shot in Surrey.

Harry Potter

Harry Potter doesn't appear to be showing on live TV channels this year.

However, all eight movies are currently available to stream on Sky Cinema on the Sky Go App. Unfortunately for Harry Potter fans, the movies are not available on Netflix but you are able to rent or buy them on other streaming services such as Amazon Prime.

On Amazon each movie costs £3.49 to rent or £5.99 to buy.

The 20th anniversary reunion, though, will be shown on Sky and Now TV on January 1, 2022. Details can be found here. You can also find out what some of the key characters have been up to since the franchise ended, here.
