When did Beyonce record "In Da Club?" and what for?

Most orgers know I'm not very taken by Beyonce razz But..recently, I heard her version/remix of "In Da Club" and really liked it. Was it official? When it was released/recorded? What for? I searched iTunes to buy it, but didn't see it there. Was it just released/recorded for fun and not put out officially?  Released in March 2003, it was official. http://www.mtv.com/news/a...once.jhtml Beyoncé's version of "In Da Club" made its way onto several mixtapes after being released a couple of weeks ago, but it never quite made its way into the clubs as a dancefloor favorite. Still, there's good news for anyone jonesing to shake their jelly to the sounds of Jay-Z's Bonnie at a favorite hot spot. Beyoncé's father and manager, Mathew Knowles, said they're choosing between two songs as the first single for her solo LP, Dangerously in Love, now due in June. According to Knowles, both tracks are geared toward the club, and whichever one wins out should be out by the first week of May. Knowles said his daughter's "In Da Club" was just a buzz cut and will not be on the album, but he said to look for guest appearances by Sean Paul, Missy Elliott and Jay-Z. In fact, B's Clyde stepped a little outside the hip-hop realm and wrote two R&B songs for the album. One will definitely be included on the LP. R. Kelly also contributed to Dangerously in Love, according to a spokesperson for the R&B crooner. Knowles would only confirm the aforementioned artists, but he did admit that Beyoncé was either in talks with or had worked with a few other artists.

I will admit, in the last year or so, her image has died down a bit. One while there, she was EVERYWHERE! I will admit that I do like a lot of her music, but she doesn't switch it up enough for me. Maybe this year, but think back to 06, 07 and 08. B was EVERYWHERE. On EVERY magazine cover, at EVERY award show, on EVERY video channel (even singing a country version of "Irreplaceable"). I agree she toned down her image this last year a bit, but she's still everywhere. I'm personally tired of her. I wish she would take off a year or 2 and put together a good and solid album. Look, I don't know Gaga for Caca but from watching her one appearance on The View awhile ago but the one thing I do know is that an upcoming artist does not have the financial or political clout to force songwriters to give up their commissions so that leads med to believe that Gaga is more credible in this instance. Look, they both suffer from over exposure, but when it comes to GaGa, her "over exposure", can be easily explained or excused as the result of good marketing to a certain demographic, (the gay crowd, white teens, etc). Some even see her as the "Second Coming". While Beyonce, who is just as talented, because she really does not have a "gimmick", people tend to look at exposure that she gets as unwarranted and because she has not "paid her dues", she is not as deserving of all the exposure. In the case of Gaga, is it talent and the ability to "write" a song, that keeps her in the top spot, or the fact that she stands out? She reminds me allot of Boy George.
