Pixar's next big release is "Lightyear," the definitive origin story of Buzz Lightyear, an adventure, action and science fiction film.

The plot revolves around the legendary Space Ranger, who was marooned on a hostile planet 4.2 million light years from Earth along with his commander and crew.

Back home

From that strange world, Buzz tries to find his way back home through space and time.

To make his mission successful, Lightyear is joined by a group of enthusiastic recruits and a charming robot company cat they call Sox.

As in all journeys, there are drawbacks to success, but above all there are villains, in this case Zurg, who leads an army of ruthless robots.

The main voices that give life to the characters in "Lightyear" are led by Chris Evans, who plays the Space Ranger..

Uzo Aduba plays Buzz's commander and best friend, Alisha Hawthorne.

Peter Sohn plays Sox, while Keke Palmer, Taika Waititi and Dale Soules lend their voices to Izzy Hawthorne, Mo Morrison and Darby Steel, respectively,

James Brolin also takes on the role of the enigmatic Zurg.

In addition, the film will be directed by Angus MacLane, who co-directed "Finding Dory."

It should be noted that the "Lightyear" movie will be released exclusively in theaters on June 17.
