When is Taco Bell bringing back the Mexican pizza?
In May 2022, Taco Bell fans went crazy over the fast food chain’s latest revival of Mexican pizza.
It sold out in a few weeks in May, and fans weren’t happy.
But come mid-September, the pizza that is made of beef and refried beans in between two pizza-shaped taco shells topped with cheesy goodness, tomatoes, and pizza sauce will be back.
But wait, there’s better news.

This time, it’s coming back forever.
Taco Bell’s CEO Mark King told Fortune: “I had more feedback—hate mail!—over the removal of Mexican pizza [than any other time].”
The Mexican pizza contains a total of 540 calories, according to the Taco Bell site, and retails for $4.49.
Why did Taco Bell get rid of the Mexican pizza?
According to King, it was due to the labor-intensive nature of making the pizzas and certain ingredients that were specific only to the pizzas.
Apparently, the decision was an effort to make it easier for staff members during the company’s Covid-19 reaction plan.
Now that they’re back, you’ll be able to upgrade your pizzas with sauces including a creamy jalapeño sauce, guacamole, nacho cheese, reduced-fat sour cream, avocado ranch sauce, chipotle sauce, green sauce, red sauce, and spicy ranch.
You can also customize your pizzas with yummy toppings like black beans, extra cheese, chicken, jalapeño peppers, lettuce, onions, seasoned rice, and steak.

How are customers responding?
Many Taco Bell lovers took to social media like Twitter to express their love of Mexican pizza.
One user particularly enjoyed the nostalgia the pizza brings.
“Y’all can pretend Taco Bell’s Mexican Pizza wasn’t the most reliable part of our childhood but I was there. I remember. Sh*t never forsaked me. It slapped every time,” they wrote.
The tweet received over 2k likes from other users.
