Sort by Oldest first Oldest first Newest first Most reactions #2 · Oct 24, 2005 I go until the second week of november or when they stop growing. My accounts are still growing pretty good along with my own yard. I don't know when I'll be able to go mow them though, lovely rain. #3 · Oct 24, 2005 I am in NW Ohio and I'm beginning to wonder when Ill be able to quit. Its still growing good but raining all the time. #4 · Oct 24, 2005 this week is thier last mow. after that, we are available for "fall service"= leaf cleanup. #5 · Oct 24, 2005 I don't understand, You guys want the grass to be done? I hope we have some freak event and the grass grows right threw march and into april. I've read that generaly it takes april to sept to cover overhead. RIGHT NOW IS ALL THE PROFIT! LET IT GROW! #6 · Oct 24, 2005

Generally and Actually are two different things :D I don't "wish" the cutting season to be done with but really in past experiences mid november is about it, some are done sooner, some later. So I highly doubt something strange will happen and allow us to continue until January, gotta go with the flow. #7 · Oct 24, 2005 I think I can strectch some accounts out for another 2 weeks and then start my fall clean-ups. Then the plow goes on! #8 · Oct 24, 2005 I'm planning on mowing till the 11th but we'll see how the weather goes. The grass at most of my accounts is slowing down but has not stopped yet. #9 · Oct 24, 2005 I switch to biweekly visits as of Oct 1, visits included mowing, Leaf clean up, etc......and I charge accordingly..... I usually finish the first week of Dec. Derek #10 · Oct 24, 2005 I stop in the 3rd week of October then its fall clean up time. I went through this last year with people wanting their lawns mowed in hopes of us clearing the leaves as well while bagging for the price of a normal mowing. I didn't even want to offer fall clean ups but if I don't then I'm sure the next company would gladly do it. #11 · Oct 24, 2005

This is where I am also. Will do mowing in Nov if asked but on a time available basis. It is difficult to mow and do leaves at the same time. To many equipment changes to switch back and forth. #12 · Oct 24, 2005 I was out today cutting . Still have some lawns green and growing so it looks like Ill be cutting into the middle of Nov. Had spotty frost a couple of days ago so that will slow things down . Ill try to make up for some of the lawns that got burnt during the summer and I wasnt able to cut every week . #13 · Oct 24, 2005

Whenever the grass doesn't need cut anymore. Some St AUgustine is still going strong weekly, some every 2 weeks. #14 · Oct 25, 2005 here in north central OH i usually cut once in the first week of november. The leaves are still on the trees but i think they should al be down by the end of the week. Besides, I usually lower the deck for the last cut, it helps prevent mold over the winter and i can say i am actually cutting some grass. But for the most part, im ready for it to be over. Its been a good year:blob3: #15 · Oct 25, 2005 I usually give my final cuts close to Thanksgiving in Northeastern Ohio. Final fertilizer applications are done in November too!!! #16 · Oct 25, 2005 Ron, I go to the end of November sometimes the first week of Dec. Although it is not taking much grass off I still use the mowers to suck up leaves and give it a shorter cut for the winter. But I still charge for a cutting and then the leaf service too. I really want a break in between this and any snow events. So I am hoping to be done and then go away for a couple of weeks. But the leaves are just now starting to fall. JP Insert Quotes Post Reply
