Uh...Not really 'completed' since they still do updates...Released is the only milestone you can really do thats sort of like 'completed'. To be honest you could always just search google instead of making a forum post. If you don't find search results, that should be a clear signal that you're looking for the wrong thing.

As Elita said, MC is still in development, although technically you could say that MC as a game was completed at the 1.0 update because the End and the end credits were introduced.

As a side note, I recommend NOT writing a paper on this.

[SNIP]...im just wondering when Minecraft was COMPLETED not RELEASED. Completed meaning developement is done.

It used to be that a game would be declared 'GOLD' as in considered complete and ready for distribution, but the release date would be sometime after that.. However nowadays with digital download and distribution many games are available to same day, especially for small indie developers who rely solely on digital distribution. This was the case for Minecraft, so Minecraft 1.0's release date is also the date the game was considered complete and released (no longer in development phases). I'm in agreement with rodabon. The game's completion was when 1.0 was released.

But I have to discourage Mineraft as a topic for a paper. This sounds like a history assignment. Why not the Han Dynasty? Plenty of material there.

It's still not complete. Everything feels incomplete. Examples:

    • There are biome exclusive mob variants, but there are so few it barely adds anything.
    • There are more than a dozen potion effects without craftable potions
    • Loot enchantments were made, a whopping two of them! (Same for curses)
    • Cool dungeons such as mineshafts, strongholds, monuments and mansions exist but it seems like there should be more of these and their loot is still garbage.
    • The Nether is lack luster besides Nether forts.
    • There are two water mobs, one is monument exclusive.
    • Most biomes feel lifeless because there are no wild animals
    • The player can become super powerful but there is nothing worth fighting against with such power except other players
    • Caves spiders still don't spawn in caves

    Praise be to Spode.

Minecraft 1.0 was released in 7 January 1999.

MInecraft 1.1 was released in 25 August 1999.

Minecraft 1.2 was released in 10 December 1999.

Minecraft 1.3 was released in 1 January 2000.

    Minecraft 1.4 - 9 April 2000

    Minecraft 1.5 - 14 December 2000

    Minecraft 1.6 - 5 February 2001

    Minecraft 1.7 - 30 November 2001

    Minecraft 1.8 - 8 March 2006

    Minecraft 1.9 - 29 July 2009

    Minecraft 1.10 - 5 June 2012

This was satire! The real Minecraft started in 2009. Wikipedia says 2011. Just go to Minecon.

Well I'm glad you clarified that your misinformation was satire at the end, although I think it was in poor taste. Not sure why you would consider Infdev or earlier to be the 'real' Minecraft. And what does going to Minecon have to do with answering the topic? There are times where it's okay to joke a bit, but your response is just confusing the topic and not helpful at all.
