It's big catch-up time for new viewers of the hit Starz series Outlander following the March 6 premiere of Season 6. Given that the show's previous seasons have made their way to Netflix a couple of years after their initial airing on Starz, it's likely that Netflix's debut of Season 5 is fortunately around the corner.

The show, based on the hit Diana Gabaldon book series, centers around Claire Randall, a married combat nurse from 1945 who mysteriously travels back in time to 1743, where she's forced into a new marriage with Scottish warrior, Jamie. The two eventually ignite a passionate love affair that leaves Claire torn between two men in irreconcilable timelines. By Season 5, the romance shifts to a family feud as their established life in the colonies gets more dangerous. Tension arises among Claire, Jamie and their family as they face moral dilemmas surrounding whether or not it's safest to return back to Claire's original timeline in the future.

The show's fifth season exclusively premiered on Starz back in February 2020 and should be available on Netflix later this year. The fourth season finale aired on Starz in January 2019 and debuted on Netflix in January of 2021—and based on this pattern, the fifth season is expected to debut around May 2022, per Decider.

As for Season 6, the show's final season likely won't appear on Netflix until 2024—but has quite a few other seasons under the belt to binge on in the meantime. Seasons 1 through 4 of Outlander are available now for streaming on Netflix with monthly subscriptions starting at $9.99.
