The nurses said the tape would start to come off in the shower- I don't see any signs of that How long did everyone else have their tape on? Did you wait or take it off yourself?   Mine only lasted about a week. I take baths instead of showers usually though. I peeled the ones that were stuck off at the time they started looking dingy.

  are you talking about the big wide tape or steri strips? my dr ripped the big wide tape off about 12 hrs after the c-sec. wanted to scream at him!! i pulled the steri strips off around 7-10 days b/c they were itchy and not coming loose like the nurse said they would.

  I don't know what sterile strips are, but the other tape the nurse pulled off before I left the hospital. But I had sticky residue left for weeks.

  Mine never started to fall off and I was told I caould take it off myself after 2 weeks. Just a warning, it is really icky feeling!! Lol.

• ssturdywife Posted 06-11-12Call the Drs office & ask. With some of the patients I take care of after surgery they really don't want you to rip it off (it's super sticky, and you could take skin with it!), but they might recommend using Alcohol and a cotton swab to loosen the adhesive glue from your skin, then they'd peel off easier. Good luck! :)

  My steri strips took forever to come off. Once they fell off the top, I started gently pulling at them in the shower. The last few seemed to hang on forever. They told me to let them fall off by themselves. I was honestly so afarid to mess with the area I finally pulled the last few off before my 6 week check.

• KLambo Posted 06-12-12Ha ha. I wouldn't touch my tape. At my 6 week apt the dr told me how nasty I am (he's a family friend) and he barely touched it....it fell right off. Lol.

  Hmm I didn't have any tape of any kind. I think my doctor used dissolvable stiches and liquid skin on the outside.

  They were planning to do a classic c-section on my though in case my liver needed repair,and they didn't shave me at all. I ended up with a normal incision but the glue is stuck in little baby hairs on my stomach, which I have to peel off :(
