Best Newest Oldest By: Best Newest OldestThe majority of our monomers (building blocks) for macromolecules come from a two places. Our bodies can actually synthesize several building blocks, for example amino acids, and in more complex metabolic pathways can even synthesize glucose in the absence of it if needed. The other place where we get a majority of our building blocks is from diet. The foods you eat are digested and broken down into the building blocks that our bodies can then use to build the macromolecules we require.
