Onion Creek
7002 Onion Creek Dr
For those closer to the South Austin area, Onion Creek is a great spot to take your dog hiking and swimming. The water is typically flowing and cool, making it a safe place for you and your dog to cool off. Not to mention, the Onion Creek trail is technically an off-leash trail so your pupper can have the option to roam freely. While you're there, spoil your dog some more and stop by Pawstin Bakery, a specialty dog treat trailer located at the Onion Creek Greenbelt off-leash area.

Jumping Jack Dog Ranch
13731 Carpenter Lane (Manchaca, TX)Also located in South Austin, Jumping Jack Dog Ranch is a dog boarding and training facility that features a large fenced-in yard with a dog-themed pool. You can also reserve the private dog park for your pup’s birthday or another special event!

Cedar Bark Park
2525 West New Hope Drive (Cedar Park, TX)
The Cedar Bark Park is another fun spot for Austin dog owners and your furry best friends. This 5-acre free-roam park is located in Veterans Memorial Park and features amenities such as a natural dog pond, pet waste stations, benches, drinking fountains, dog showers, and natural trails.

K9 Water World
3006 FM621 (San Marcos, TX)
Though technically located in San Marcos, K9 Water World is more than worth the short drive south of Austin. This super fun spot for dogs and humans alike started out as a boarding facility but quickly became popular for its dock diving, swim training, and private pool rentals. If you prefer to have private playtime with your pup, the pool and surrounding fenced play yard are also available by appointment.

Walnut Creek Park
12138 N. Lamar Blvd.
Walnut Creek Park is another great place for Austinites to take their canine pals. Located on North Lamar, this 293-acre park features miles of hiking trails, an off-leash dog area, a swimming pool, a playground, and sports and recreational facilities. Please note that water levels fluctuate throughout the year, so it’s important to make sure the area has been recently tested for toxic algae.

Looking for a little outdoor adventure with your best friend? Head on out to Turkey Creek Trail for a fun and shady hike with plenty of space to run. As one of Austin’s few fully off-leash dog parks, Turkey Creek features a terrain of woods, dirt trails, and beautiful streams for swimming.
