Franklin Joseph Lymon, known professionally as Frankie Lymon, was a rock ‘n roll/rhythm and blues singer and songwriter, best known as the soprano lead singer of the New York City based rock ‘n roll group The Teenagers.

The Teenagers’ first and biggest single was 1956’s “Why Do Fools Fall in Love.” with Frankie singing lead. After he went solo in mid-1957, both his career and that of the Teenagers’ started to fall apart. On February 27, 1968, he was found dead on the floor of his grandmother’s bathroom from a heroin overdose. He was 25 years old.

Frankie is buried at Saint Raymond Cemetery in the Bronx.

    So so sad 😢 wish things could of been different for all of us heroin addicts I’m in recovery been clean for about 7 months it’s not easy but everyday is a new day for me as the months go by an turn into years of sobriety I long for that day that I don’t have that feeling or urge to use anymore thank you God for what you giving me an for what you taking from me God bless all the addicts an the people trying to get clean an who have parished an who are clean today AMEN!
