Where in this chain would you put a Keeley Katana Clean Boost? OD--Wah--Chorus--Phaser--Delay My feeling is it should come last to boost the effects signal, but I also think it could go before the OD. Opinions and rationale??? Thank you for your support! My experience (which, like everybody else, is only limited to what I've tried and used) is that a boost in front of the drive pedals adds girth and fatness to your tone and can make a mild OD setting sound like a thick fuzz if done to the extreme. On the other hand, putting it at the end of the chain can add a more trebly attack and a more classic distorted compression sound when using a tube amp. I put mine at the very end because I love the way my amp handles a boost, and it takes whatever sound I have and makes it sustain and cut through better. I use a boosted low/medium drive pedal before a fuzz to get the other sound. Lt_Core

At the end of the chain adds volume and keeps your OD but makes it louder. I run my Katana before my OD and Fuzz with the knob pulled, this works well for me. Mayer runs his first too. There are plenty that run a boost lastly as well, so try it both ways. G

I'm picking up a few new pedals and will be re-wiring my board, so I thought I'd seek some expert advice on where to put the boost. J

After the split I have delays in parallel (one going into each amp). I'd prefer the boost to go after the delays too, but to do that I'd need two clean boosts, 1 for each amp. Anyhoo, like the writer of the OP I'm after a volume boost for leads with minimal tonal coloration, and the setup I use works well for that. I'm boosting the input of my delays too, which probably isn't ideal, but it's not very noticeable. S

For a solo boost I would definitely place it at the end of the chain, I use a Barber Launch Pad.... best clean boost I have used! Franklin
