The show’s resident DJ, Deja Vu, filled in as Kelly’s replacement alongside Mark Consuelos.

Ripa was absent from the morning show on November 29, 2023.

Meanwhile, cohost Mark welcomed the show’s resident DJ, Deja Vu to the desk as a guest host.

Kelly’s husband made sure to give viewers an explanation of his wife’s whereabouts stating the beloved host has laryngitis.

He shared: “Yesterday you could tell she was losing her voice a little bit. It’s gone, it’s lost.”

When the news broke, Kelly told People: “To have Mark join me at that desk every day, it’s a dream come true.

“We’ve been so uniquely blessed.”

Mark gave his own insight on the new career move saying: “I had filled in so many times and had a blast every single time.

“Some people would die to have this opportunity. No one does it like she does. … I can’t think of anybody that I feel more safe with, and protected by, than Kelly.”

Kelly previously starred on the show alongside Ryan Seacrest, which was then called Live with Kelly and Ryan.

It was produced by Michael Gelman. Over 30 years ago, he said: “The real concept of the show, in a symbolic sense, is that they are husband and wife. They have their coffee mugs and they’re chit-chatting about what’s going on.”

The show has had various hosts since 1983 when it was a local broadcast. Since 1988, the show has aired nationwide.
