While La-Z-Boy Ottawa, Gatineau and Kingston is a well-known and locally trusted Canadian-operated dealer, many customers aren’t sure where our furniture is manufactured. Given the global nature of furniture production, some wonder if we outsource manufacturing overseas like other companies.

The answer? La-Z-Boy remains committed to manufacturing much of its recliner chairs, sectionals, and sofas in North America, with primary courses coming from parts of Canada, the United States, and Mexico.

While some components come from global sources, most of our recliners, chairs, sofas, and sectionals are built at our plants in the U.S. and Mexico before being shipped to La-Z-Boy locations in Ottawa, Gatineau and Kingston every week.

In this article, we’ll be taking a deep dive into how this works, and why we our company does what it does in keeping our furniture in North America, keeping most of the revenue in Canada, and being a proud Canadian-operated branch of the company.

Shoemaker and Edward M. Knabusch.
